My first painted canvas!

I received the Needlework 4 stand in yesterday's mail.  I love it!  What an awesome piece of machinery, if you can call it that.  Sturdy, yet lightweight for me to pick up with one hand.

I put Maggie & Co.'s By The Seaside canvas on it, the one on the front cover of the most recent Needlepoint Now magazine.  I am using my own threads and beads for this one and loosely following the stitch guide, as I had some trouble finding all of the threads in one place.  I was able to work a bit on it yesterday and started with the sky.

I am taking Janet Perry's (Nuts About Needlepoint) Create Your Own Stitch Guide class.  Five lessons, a new lesson each Friday.  This past Friday was the first lesson.  Can't wait to get into the meat of the class!!  I see so many beautiful canvases and think, okay, what stitch would I put where and what thread?  Hopefully by the end of the class I will be armed with the necessary info to do this myself.

I am experimenting a bit with the Seaside canvas.  A long time ago I purchased two needlepoint apps that list a lot of stitches by type and use, and I went and looked at them for the first time yesterday and found a stitch I am going to try on the sun part of the canvas.  We shall see...

Until next time...

You got a bunch done, Danielle - it looks great! I love how "soft" the clouds look - can't wait to see your further progress.
