I missed your post yesterday but did read it, and all the comments. Seems we all have the same feelings, at least from time to time. I hope you're feeling better! Use the fabric you love, the scissors you love (I have a big collection but really only LOVE one or two pair) and stitch only those designs you love in the fibers you love. It's all good and it should all be joyful!

My January cottage arrived finally yesterday and this morning I couldn't resist and started stitching it. How yours is coming?

Hi Danielle--I just got around to reading your post from yesterday and you got some wonderful advice from others... I think we all feel that maybe what we're doing at the time isn't what we "should" be doing and then we start fretting. I stitch mostly smalls because they make me happy and then I see people with walls of the most gorgeous samplers and I feel a bit envious... But, like so many others have said--do what makes you the happiest. I, too, love jobelan and lugana because I do a lot of over one stitching and, to me, pieces stitched over one look best on evenweaves. That's just my opinion... it's not right or wrong, just what I think. I have very few pairs of scissors and, believe it or not, my favorite go-to pair are the ugly orange handled Fiskars!!

Hang in there and try not compare your progress to others. Some of us have jobs outside the home and could never finish what a stay at home stitcher can. Some of us can't sit and stitch more than a couple hours without going crazy (like me!). Good luck to you :)

I stitch for me and me alone just because I'm selfish like that (it's MY hobby). I am not crazy about stitching samplers, I still use Aida fabric sometimes(14ct) and DMC floss (sometimes specialty threads). At first it was all I could afford, now because I just like it. I have bought hundreds of charts but all my wips are freebies. I'm happy...that's what counts.Do what makes YOU happy.
