March Cottage Update & New Purchases!

I have been working steadily on March Cottage.  Have a grand old time!

Last week I ordered a piece of 32 count Lambswool Jobelan from a popular online store, but when I received it a few days ago it was a shade darker and did not have the same weave as Jobelan.  So, I immediately e-mailed the store.  This happened one other time and they said just keep the fabric and they would mail me out a replacement piece.  This time they wanted me to describe the fabric and to send the piece back to them.  No problem, as I was not going to use it anyway.  I am pretty sure I received a piece of Lambswool linen.  It was stiffer, coarser, and did not look at all like Jobelan.  My replacement piece was mailed out on Friday, so fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, Saturday arrived and I wanted to pick up the necessary threads for Lizzie Kate's A Little Easter kit, so I decided to make a trip to The Stitching Post.  I decided to bring along my March Cottage and compare the 32 count Lambswool Jobelan at The Stitching Post to what I was stitching on, just for my own peace of mind.  At this point I actually started to question whether what I had was really Lambswool or maybe Ivory or Bone.

It was definitely Lambswool, as The Stitching Post confirmed, and so I purchased a fat quarter of it, along with all of the threads for the LK Easter kit.  I have to say I have been impressed that the last few times I have been to The Stitching Post to purchase threads, all of the ones I have needed have been in stock.  It seemed I was on a run where they would be out of one or two of them every time.  Very frustrating.

I look forward to starting the LK Easter kit when it arrives this week and continue work on March Cottage.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

March Cottage is looking so pretty! Glad the shop had all the colors you needed for your new stitch...it is frustrating when you can't get all the colors needed in one trip!

I was there Saturday as well! Saw some expensive goodies I wanted, will have to go back during their sale. Your March is looking good, I stalled on February and haven't been back to it.

March cottage looks so beautiful! You have done a lot since the last post. You're so organized to get your floss and fabric before the pattern arrives. Happy Stitching!

Your cottage is progressing nicely. It is never easy to choose fabric over the internet.

Your March cottage is so pretty! I find it so frustrating sometimes trying to purchase fabric online. Hope you get the right linen this time. :)
