Hurricane Sandy Stitching

We fared surprisingly well through Hurricane Sandy.  Although it is not totally over yet, the worst seems to be.  We only lost power and Internet service for half an hour.  Truly a miracle in my neck of the woods.  I have been holding down the fort, however, as BF is working 16-hour days this week because of the weather.  I worked all weekend to get as much stuff finished and turned in as I could, anticipating that I would be without power or Internet.

So, I was able to get some stitching done yesterday.  Brittercup Designs What A Turkey on white perforated paper and using the called-for specialty threads, using three strands of floss.  The coverage is so much better than just two threads.  I love these designs and hope to stitch all 12 of them and put them in my scrapbook in the same method Monique has made her scrapbook.

Over the weekend we took a trip to Summers Farm in Frederick.  What a great place!  A corn maze, animals, a pumpkin patch, food, drink, etc.  $10 a person to get in.  They also had a bunch of these set up, where you can put your face in the scene.  I especially like BF's daughter as the little kid.  She is 13 and about 5'8," so anything but little!

This is me standing in the pumpkin patch.  You rode a hayride truck to the patch.  Very large.  Lots of pumpkins!

And this is my favorite pic, of me and BF.  We hardly have any shots of us together, so this is a rare treat!

I hope those affected by Hurricane Sandy recover quickly!

Until next time...
